We provide benches and educational supplies to rural Liberian schools.
Annual Bench Project
$45 seats 5 students
OBTL distributes benches, chairs and essential supplies to underprivileged rural schools that can't furnish their classrooms. Benches are built by local carpenters — cheaper, and it supports the local economy.
- • 300 benches for 5 rural schools in Bong and Lofa Counties
- • 1,500 students taken off the floor (5 per bench)
- • 3 power saws so communities can cut wood for their own benches
- • Book bags, notebooks and pencils for every student who gets a bench
Back to School Project
Kits for 850 students
Parents carry the cost of uniforms, shoes, notebooks, pencils, sharpeners and erasers. With little government support, some are forced to pull their children out of school.
OBTL is distributing back-to-school kits to 850 primary students across five rural schools — three in Lofa County and two in Bong County.
